Players interviews

in.png AAA

Hey AAA, can you introduce yourself?
Hi this is Naveen Uraon. I live in Mumbai and I play Trackmania and NFS (Need For Speed).

How did you prepare yourself for this ESWC? What's your goal?
My preparation is not good. I was busy playing other tournament in South Korea and one local tournament. So I have done hardly any practice.

What do you think of the mappack this year, is it a good one?
As always maps are good.

About the players, many new guys, no swedish... what is your opinion about it? And what is your prediction?
I have seen almost all the players playing online. They are good as well. With no swedish player this year too in the ESWC Trackmania it’s easy for players to grab medal in ESWC. I am not expecting any change in top 4 just sk.png Hakki Junior instead of pt.png Moriah (ESWC 2010: no.png Bergie, pt.png Moriah, fr.png YoYo, fr.png Carl).

As the only player from outside Europe, what do you think of the Trackmania scene from an international point of view?
Trackmania is very popular in Europe but I don’t understand why it is not getting popular in Asian Countries. I have not seen any racing game as good as TMNF in recent years.  It has a very bright future in racing genre. Asian level tournaments should be done to promote TMNF in Asia.

My last question is about a hot topic nowadays. I suppose you read that TM²-Canyon was preferred to TMNF at the WCG, what is your thought about it?
I have not played TM²-Canyon but I have seen Dreamhack final. From the gameplay it doesn’t look good at least not good than TMNF. And I don’t understand why WCG is keeping TM² when you already have good game like TMNF. TM²-Canyon is no match for TMNF.

Good luck for the ESWC and thanks for this interview, I let you the final word.
I want to thank yogesh from Re-inforcement (rapture gaming India) for hosting the ESWC India Qualifiers and sponsoring me for this event.

tr.png KinGoD

Hey KinGoD, can you introduce yourself?
Hellooo, I'm Mustafa Yigit. I'm living in Germany and I study maths in the University Essen-Duisburg. I've been playing Trackmania since 2007 I think.

How did you prepare yourself for this ESWC? What's your goal?
Well I started a bit later to train than some other guys because I get added later to the list of ESWC participants. And there was just 2 weeks I think to train this maps.
I tried to train everyday for 2-3 hours to avoid losing the "mapsfeeling". But during the last weekend my graphic card stopped working so I couldn't train at this time. But now everything is ok and I have started my training again ^^
About my goal: To be honest I really dont know, I want to go as far as its possible :D

What do you think of the mappack this year, is it a good one?
The mappack is really good. I can't pick any map which I can say "this is the best" or "this is the worst". Sure they are hard to play but hey it's ESWC :D

About the players, many new guys, no swedish... what is your opinion about it? And what is your prediction?
Well ye no swedish guys this time. It would have been nice to see them at this event. Therefore there is a lot of new guys including myself who want to get a new experience. Well these guys are just new for the ESWC. We know each other from online team tournaments.
I think we can say that the "experienced guys" are the favorites for the top, like fr.png Carl, fr.png Yoyo, sk.png Hakki or no.png Bergie. These guys are going to LANs very often.

My last question is about a hot topic nowadays. I suppose you read that TM²-Canyon was preferred to TMNF at the WCG, what is your thought about it?
Yes I read it. I also tried this game. It's not bad for sure. But to play it at big events so fast, I don't know if it's a good idea. It doesn't interest me anyway but I think for the guys who were regularly on these events for TMNF it is really unfair. That's what I can say.

Good luck for the ESWC and thanks for this interview, I let you the final word.
Ye I will need the luck ty :D I wish to all the participants a good travel to Paris and a good time in Paris, see ya there ^^

it.png Extreme

Hey Extreme, can you introduce yourself?
Hi, I'm Andrea Benedetti I live in Florence and I'm so excited for this ESWC.

How did you prepare yourself for this ESWC? What's your goal?
I received the invitation one week after the release of the mappack so I trained hard, some day for 5h, to remedy to this delay and I think I succeeded.
For me reach the top8 will be fantastic so I will try to do my best for that.

What do you think of the mappack this year, is it a good one?
The maps are totally different when compared to ESL or STC maps but they're funny and hard so I think this is one of the most competitive mappack I’ve ever seen.

About the players, many new guys, no swedish... what is your opinion about it? And what is your prediction?
Yes no swedish it's a shame, it would have been nice to race against se.png Karjen, se.png FrostBeule and se.png Kewin, but there are so many strong player so will be a nice competition also without them.
I think new players is a very good thing for this game, and about the favourites I see very well no.png Bergie, fr.png Carl and fr.png YoYo who have a lot of experience, but there are also sk.png HakkiJr, it.png Beppo, nl.png Spam and sk.png tween who are really trained and can be dangerous.

My last question is about a hot topic nowadays. I suppose you read that TM²-Canyon was preferred to TMNF at the WCG, what is your thought about it?
I just think that TM²-Canyon can’t be compared to TMNF about the eSports.

Good luck for the ESWC and thanks for this interview, I let you the final word.
I want to wish good luck to my opponent, thanks to my team-mate and to my noob italian friends and what else to say… SEE YOU AT PARIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

de.png oNio

Hey oNio, can you introduce yourself?
Hey guys, my name is Florian Roschu and I'm 18 years old. I'm currently in 13th grade and prepare my graduation, after which I will study maths or chemistry. I have been playing Trackmania for three years now, and I can't get sick of this game :D.

How did you prepare yourself for this ESWC? What's your goal?
Since I'm in the middle of EPS Germany preparation (whose playoffs will start today vs. de.png pokeY), I had not so much time to prepare myself for 5 maps additionally. I tried my best to at least drive a good "personal best" on each map so that I will have the chance to take some rounds at the ESWC Finals, but I'm afraid that it’s just good enough to reach the top 8 at the most.

What do you think of the mappack this year, is it a good one?
It's my first ESWC but while the one was held last year, I looked at the maps and thought: what the fuck? That was a completely other style of map I knew from the ESL and STC (even if the STC is becoming close to it). But this year I was relieved when I looked at the maps: there's flow... :D

About the players, many new guys, no swedish... what is your opinion about it? And what is your prediction?
Ye it’s a pity that no swedish guys had the chance to come or had no time or no motivation... what else. But I think the new guys will bring a contrast in a "dying" game like Trackmania Nations Forever. It's nice to see so many of "Online-Players" who at last get the chance now to show their skills at a World Cup. Oh Hell... I’m talking like I am an old guy who attended each World Cup. Of course I'm glad that I get the chance, too. I didn't count on the invitation since I sucked the Qualy Cup :D. My favorite is of course no.png Bergie, even if I can just repeat the other guys, that I think we will see a surprise this year.

My last question is about a hot topic nowadays. I suppose you read that TM²-Canyon was preferred to TMNF at the WCG, what is your thought about it?
I think everything was said... I like the game... no.png Bergie, DVD, Laptop *cough* xD

Good luck for the ESWC and thanks for this interview, I let you the final word.
Ye thanks for the luck :D I greet de.png Scream. A pity that this problem with de.png g00x lasted so long that we don't have a chance to get him to paris. I greet my sponsors, the de.png team mousesports. I'm a part of it for 4 months now and it is so awesome there... And i greet the german scene... wish me luck. Go mouz Go TBR and GO GERMANY!!!!
UMPUMPEN DA!!

fr.png RapT

Hey RapT, can you introduce yourself?
Hear ye, hear ye dear fellows! I’m Franck Unau known under the nickname RapT in Trackmania. I’m in last year of engineering school in Sceaux, and I have been playing TM for 4 years (I think).
I’m currenly playing for fr.png Team LDLC with fr.png Carl, fr.png Sulli and fr.png tRkr. 3 crazy mates!

How did you prepare yourself for this ESWC? What's your goal?
I trained as much as possible but not enough I think, to make it better I should have played at least 2 or 3 hours a day, and I have played approx. 1h every other day :D But I stay optimistic and confident, I will do my best to make a good result et go the farther I can!
My goal is to reach the Grand Final, I’m gonna give my whole the D-Day to achieve it!

What do you think of the mappack this year, is it a good one?
I think the maps are really great this year! Hard but fun :) The consistency is difficult to gain on a few. The loco ones are perfect with and oldschool style which gives charm to his two maps. Anyway, a good and hard mappack!

About the players, many new guys, no swedish... what is your opinion about it? And what is your prediction?
The swedish are desperately missing, it’s a pity they are not here ! Like Pezi! But it’s also great to see new faces in LAN.
I predict a fight between no.png Bergie, sk.png Hakki, fr.png YoYo and fr.png Carl for the Grand Final, but sk.png tween, nl.png Spam, it.png Beppo and me will be close!
Go for 3 frenchies in Grand Final and I hope one French guy will win this ESWC!

Something you want to add about the ESWC?
Definitely not cool to have the maps only two weeks before the event !

My last question is about a hot topic nowadays. I suppose you read that TM²-Canyon was preferred to TMNF at the WCG, what is your thought about it?
Too bad, everybody makes mistakes.

Good luck for the ESWC and thanks for this interview, I let you the final word.
I want to thank fr.png TeamLDLC.com and their sponsor Razer ! I also thank Anthony and Stephan from LDLC.com.
Cya at the ESWC guys!

uk.png Sabre

Hey Sabre, can you introduce yourself?
Hello, I'm Andrew Wilson and I am 15 years old, hailing from Bolton in England (it's next to Manchester).

How did you prepare yourself for this ESWC? What's your goal?
I have tried my best to prepare myself for the situations I'll be faced with in the event and I have trained quite well (still shaky on a map or two). However I don't at all expect to finish top4 as this is my first ever LAN event and I have honestly no idea what to expect ^.^

What do you think of the mappack this year, is it a good one?
Overall I like the mappack, although to be honest I do not agree with the general direction in which competition maps are going. I much prefer playing older maps when I play TM (I'm talking about maps where it was hard to actually drift, not just hard to drift perfectly). Given the very high level of the competition I expected some very hard maps, but all-in-all I like the mappack ^^

About the players, many new guys, no swedish... what is your opinion about it? And what is your prediction?
To me such "World Championships" are not real WCs if 2 of the best players are not there (se.png FrostBeule and se.png KarjeN). As for as the newer guys go, I wouldn't class sk.png hjr as a new guy but I fully expect to see either him or sk.png tween make top4 (or both), as well as fr.png Carl and probably no.png Bergie. As for newer guys like me, I honestly have no idea what to expect from us, but I wouldn't expect big things cause we just do not have the experience ^.^

My last question is about a hot topic nowadays. I suppose you read that TM²-Canyon was preferred to TMNF at the WCG, what is your thought about it?
Honestly, I am not surprised. I expect some may have already read my viewpoint on the situation on the relevant TM-Actu article. To be honest, I am really not surprised to see this happen (I also expect ESWC 2012 to go in the same direction). I do not think this because I think TM²-Canyon is better, but just because it has more funding from Ubisoft and such, and we should all know that in such a fragile environment as eSports, having sponsorship or funding for a tournament is anything (The only reason that LoL has such substantial tournaments is due to such heavy funding by Riot Games). Can such things kill TMNF eSports? Yes. Is it a good thing? Probably not. Is there much we can do at this point? No.

Good luck for the ESWC and thanks for this interview, I let you the final word.
I would like to add that this is my last solo TMNF tourney of my career (unless TMNF has a resurgance) and that after this, I will be playing more SC2 and more TM². Thanks for the interview ^^

fr.png Carl

Hey Carl, can you introduce yourself?
Hi, I'm Dorian VALLET, I live in Lyon and I'm looking forward to the next week-end, it's gonna rocks!

How did you prepare yourself for this ESWC? What's your goal?
Very burdensome preparation. The maps were relased way too late and I am in a period of lots of work and assignments to hand... the 21st of October, day of the World Cup. And the week-end there is the Rugby world Cup, it's wasting my time ^^ Anyway, I managed to train the best I could, I'm far from the WRs but we will have to be consistent. Nevertheless, my goal is a little top1.

What do you think of the mappack this year, is it a good one?
Yep the maps are really good! Some are quite hard I think and we have to be careful with the borders (at least I believed so given the times in the dedi!!). Anyway, very good one.

About the players, many new guys, no swedish... what is your opinion about it? And what is your prediction?
Indeed, very good online players this year. I'm starting to be seriously worried! But I hope they will crack under the pressure in real situation (I definitely count on that :p). no.png Bergie has some experience, sk.png Hakki and fr.png YoYo a bit too. sk.png Tween, nl.png Spam and it.png Beppo are real bots. fr.png Rapt consistency can help him to go far. And yeah, the swedish and at.png Pezi are missing, but the level will still be really high.
Prediction: no.png Bergie, sk.png Hakki, fr.png YoYo and fr.png Carl in the Grand Final (definitely not in this order :p).

Anything you want to add about the ESWC?
Thanks to gave us the maps 2 weeks before and to book an hotel really close (approx. 1h in subway). Anyway, I will give my verdict after the event ^^ Usually, it's ok. It's not like it was 60°C on the main stage last year :D

My last question is about a hot topic nowadays. I suppose you read that TM²-Canyon was preferred to TMNF at the WCG, what is your thought about it?
Hardly anything. I didn't think it will be played in big events. It can infuse a new life in the community, maybe not. Wait & see. As Hylis said, it's difficult to compare a one-month baby with a 5-years-old boy ^^

Good luck for the ESWC and thanks for this interview, I let you the final word.

sk.png tween

Hey tween, can you introduce yourself?
Oy, my name is Marek Pacher and I come from Slovakia. As far as I know, I'm the youngest competitor (sorry if I'm mistaken, uk.png Sabre) being only 15 years old. I'm currently playing for cz.png eSuba.

How did you prepare yourself for this ESWC? What's your goal?
Come on! If I told you what my goal is, I would seem like an arrogant kiddo.
I feel great in terms of preparation. I've never been able to put many hours into training, but I still tried to put as much time into it. I think I averaged at like... 2 hours/day? The thing is, when I play, I try to focus solely on the game and nothing else, which is not sustainable for more than 2 hours mostly.

What do you think of the mappack this year, is it a good one?
It's been said before that it's fairly easy, but I'm not really complaining. It kinda fits my playstyle. The maps are also mostly bugfree, so I'd say it's an above average mappack.

About the players, many new guys, no swedish... what is your opinion about it? And what is your prediction?
Well, I know all the people, but for some of them it is the first big LAN they've ever attended, so it's all down to how they can deal with the pressure. It sucks that there are no swedish people, 'cause they'd surely level up the competition.
For my prediction, see "What's your goal?".

My last question is about a hot topic nowadays. I suppose you read that TM²-Canyon was preferred to TMNF at the WCG, what is your thought about it?
Well, it's pretty clear that TMNF doesn't attract too many new players anymore and that a new game had to come in and take the torch. Unfortunately, I don't think TM²-Canyon is going to be worthy successor. It's simply missing something and I can't point out what. I wish the game the best, but I won't be a part of it.

Good luck for the ESWC and thanks for this interview, I let you the final word.
Thank you for the interview, shout out to cz.png eSuba for supporting me and of course, to all the people I'm dying to meet already! (ABFALLEIMERSAFT)

fr.png YoYo

Hey Yoyo, can you introduce yourself?
Hi, I'm Yoann Cook aka YoYo, I'm in high-school, I have been playing TrackMania for 5 years and I'm still addicted to this game, I live around Paris. I think that's all.

How did you prepare yourself for this ESWC? What's your goal?
My goal is the podium of course. About my preparation, I trained regularly on the maps since the release, to make fast progress, and now I'm putting the finishing touches to it, trying to have the best consistency as possible on the 5 maps.

What do you think of the mappack this year, is it a good one?
This year they are amazing, with a lot of variety, not too many dangerous spots, not too difficult. Only one has a really hard finish, otherwise it's quite ok.

About the players, many new guys, no swedish... what is your opinion about it? And what is your prediction?
Yeah, a lot of new players in this ESWC, most of them only online-players, so I don't know what they are worth in LAN, but sure, online they are really strong.
About the prediction, hmm... I would say fr.png Carl since there is no se.png KarJen nor se.png Frost, and after, no.png Bergie, me and sk.png Hakki Junior.

Ok ok, and my last question is about a hot topic nowadays. I suppose you read that TM²-Canyon was preferred to TMNF at the WCG, what is your thought about it?
Woo... Herm, my personal opinion is that TM²-Canyon doesn't have an appropriate gameplay for eSport, I tested the game several days so I know what I'm talking about ^^. Others can say differently of course, and it's sure that for the spectators it would be really great. But for the players, not so much.
Everyone has an opinion about it. About the WCG, I think it's a pity because a lot of TMNF players will stop. Then there will be a TM²-Valley, is it also going to be an eSport game? I don't know, but I think the players opinion on the 3 environments of TM² must be heard before proposing one which will be played in eSport.
Moreover, it will let some time to the TMNF players to enjoy these tournaments.

Good luck for the ESWC and thanks for this interview YoYo, I let you the final word.
Gooo carlouf raptouf and trkrouf to be ESWC top 4!!
I also thank my sponsor WDC for the LAN support.

it.png B3pp0'92

Hey Beppo, can you introduce yourself?
Hi, i'm Giuseppe "B3pp0'92" Casella at the moment i'm a player for de.png Team Acer. I live in Fiorano Modenese, I'm 19 years old and I have been playing TMN:F for 5 years, for eu.png inFerno eSports, de.png n!faculty and uk.png Team Dignitas.

How did you prepare yourself for this ESWC? What's your goal?
I have been preparing really hard for this tournament. Because I want to play really good in order to test my skill with the best players in the world: sk.png HakkiJunior, sk.png tween, no.png Bergie and the french players fr.png YoYo, fr.png Rapt and fr.png Carl. These last 3 players are really good in LAN.
About my goal, well, I don't know, like all the players I would like to win but I guess top4 is possible. Anyway, in LAN with finalist mode all is possible :)

What do you think of the mappack this year, is it a good one?
Well, about the mappack I guess some maps are really short, for example Nonamemap which is only 54 secs but that one is really tech. On the locobuddha maps you can't say "I won the round" anywhere in the map, because Carcajo has a last turn really hard if you want do it fullspeed, and in Soleil, int the last turn you need to do a rammstein with a strange line... The boxer and zneaky are fantastic hard techs with fantastic drifts.
In a few words this mappack is hard but perfect for a tournament like ESWC.

About the players, many new guys, no swedish... what is your opinion about it? And what is your prediction?
Yeah like you said on the question there are new names, I feel new also even if I played the WCG 2010 in Los Angeles (where I was notrain). There are many new names like nl.png Spam, tr.png Kingod, uk.png Sabre, it.png Extreme, etc. And this year I really don't know who will win but I'm sure it will be a totally surprise for all.

And my last question is about a hot topic nowadays. I suppose you read that TM²-Canyon was preferred to TMNF at the WCG, what is your thought about it?
For the last question I'm sorry but I prefer not to answer. The only thing that I can say is that TM²-Canyon isn't a game for eSport and I don't really like it :)

Good luck for the ESWC and thanks for this interview Beppo, I let you the final word.
Thanks very much and I'm sure this will be a fantastic experience! I want to thank de.png Team Acer for the support and, as last thing, if you want to know all about me and my matches follow me on Facebook!
Thanks again for this interview and have fun for the spectators player cya at Paris ;p

no.png Bergie

Hey Bergie, can you introduce yourself?
Hey! My name is Fredrik 'Bergie' Bergmann, I am 20 years old and I am the captain of uk.png Team Dignitas' TMNF-squad.

How did you prepare yourself for this ESWC? What's your goal?
I have to admit I didn't get off to a good start as I was attending a norwegian LAN when the maps were released. Therefore I struggled a lot to learn the maps when I started training, and the fact that people like it.png Beppo was already well trained made it even worse as I got frustrated when I couldnt set as good times as him:P Fortunately I practiced a lot during last week and towards the weekend I had learned all the maps decently, and now I feel well prepared!
About my goal, well I would lie if I said I dont expect to be in top4, because thats where I belong. I really badly want to win again as that would make me the first back-to-back champion, but its not gonna be easy!

What do you think of the mappack this year, is it a good one?
I think the mappack is actually very good, much better than last year. The maps are pretty diverse with Loco's being the most challenging ones. Zneaky is a bit tricky in the start, while box3er is tricky in the end. Nonamemap is very short for being a tournament map, nevertheless its fun to play.

About the players, many new guys, no swedish... what is your opinion about it? And what is your prediction?
The fact that there are no swedish players (se.png Kewin got an invite but couldn't go) does not surprise me at all, and I do not wish to waste time on reflecting on it.
There are quite a few new names in attendance this year, such as sk.png Tween, nl.png Spam and uk.png Sabre. We all know who they are and have seen them play online, but this is the first time (sk.png Tween attended RedByte-LAN, but it doesnt count as a big championship :P) we see them at a big event like ESWC. Judged by who's been training alot, nl.png Spam, it.png Beppo and sk.png Hakkijunior and sk.png Tween look strong. fr.png Carl is the favourite based on experience and basically the fact that he always performs good at LAN. The two other frenchies will probably do good as well, but im unsure whether fr.png Rapt has that it takes to fight with the best international players.

And my last question is about a hot topic nowadays. I suppose you read that TM²-Canyon was preferred to TMNF at the WCG, what is your thought about it?
I am very tired of this discussion and the only thing I have to say is that it is very sad that TMNF gets left behind in the dark now that TM²-Canyon has been released.

Good luck for the ESWC and thanks for this interview Bergie, I let you the final word.
Thank you very much! I would like to give a shoutout to uk.png Team Dignitas, our manager ODEE, and all our sponsors for supporting eSports and especially our TMNF-team. Also a shoutout to my fans, I will try to do my best and not let you down!
PS: Any opponent that gives me a pepsi max in Paris will have a bigger chance of winning against me *hint hint*.

pt.png DVD

Hey DVD, can you introduce yourself?
Hi, my name is Diogo Vala, I come from Portugal and I am currently playing for uk.png Team Dignitas.

How did you prepare yourself for this ESWC? What's your goal?
My training didn't go so well to be honest. I started university not too long ago and therefore I don't have much time to play and didn't train as much as I wanted to.
This is my first big international event and I just want to do my best and go as far as possible.

What do you think of the mappack this year, is it a good one?
I think the mappack isn't as hard as the previous years. The maps were rather easy to learn and I could get decent time in most of the maps.

About the players, many new guys, no swedish... what is your opinion about it? And what is your prediction?
I think it's good to see new faces as it means more and more players are achieving the top level.
About the swedes, there were none in last year's event either, so we already know what's going to happen. Anyone can win.

My last question is about a hot topic nowadays. I suppose you read that TM²-Canyon was preferred to TMNF at the WCG, what is your thought about it?
I think it is inevitable that TM²-Canyon will be chosen instead of TMNF in major events. It's a new game and the organizations want to try it out and see how it goes.
I don't judge them as that is a good thing. I do think, however, that TMNF is more turned towards competition than Canyon and therefore will take part again in those tournaments.

Good luck for the ESWC and thanks for this interview DVD, I let you the final word.
Thank you as well.
I want to wish good luck to all the players but especially to my team mates no.png Bergie and nl.png Spam. Gogo like rockets! :D

nl.png Spam

Hey Spam, can you introduce yourself?
Hello my name is Tim 'spam' Lunenburg, I'm 17 years old and live in The Netherlands. I have been playing trackmania for 3 years now.

How did you prepare yourself for this ESWC? What's your goal?
Well this is my first very big international tournament so I want to perform well and show everybody that I can compete with the top. Since I had much spare time I have practiced alot.

What do you think of the mappack this year, is it a good one?
I don't know the maps from last year but this year's mappack seems really good in my opinion, I like the style of the tracks. Some are better then the others but overall super mappack.

About the players, many new guys, no swedish... what is your opinion about it? And what is your prediction?
Indeed there are many new faces this year including me, I think it can go in either direction since the mode we play is finalist and it's always a kind of 'random' mode. I don't really have a prediction but I think we will get surprised by all the new guys.

My last question is about a hot topic nowadays. I suppose you read that TM²-Canyon was preferred to TMNF at the WCG, what is your thought about it?
I don't want to waste too much time about this subject, even though I think TMNF is the core where it all began and it should stay like this.

Good luck for the ESWC and thanks for this interview Spam, I let you the final word.
I wish everybody a nice week in Paris and I want to thank my new uk.png Team Dignitas and all their sponsors for all the great stuff they do.
To all my fans and mostly to my 'HATERS' I will do the best I can do and have some fun :D

fr.png tRkr

Hey tRkr, can you introduce yourself?
IRL I'm Pierre-Luc, everyone call me PL :D I'm 25 years-old, mechanical engineer.
I have been playing Trackmania for 6 years! I played for fr.png Webone, fr.png Formula Fight and today for fr.png Team LDLC.com.
I'm also the captain of the french team in Nations Cup.

How have you come to participate to the ESWC?
To be honest I was just warned Sunday at noon about my participation to this World Cup. My first reaction was “are you kidding?!” but after 5min my brain just blown out and I yelled and run in my house. Actually, de.png gaLLo retired and the ESWC staff agreed to pick one more player, and a French one. fr.png Kimi declined (I don’t know much about that), and I was 5th at the French Cup with fr.png Sulli, so we were next on list. The admin had to count all our points accumulated during the Masters season and I was ahead of him, therefore I have been selected.
I’m really honored to be able to participate to this World Cup, even more because of the participation of fr.png Rapt, fr.png Carl and fr.png YoYo, who I like a lot. It’s also really great for fr.png LDLC.com to have 3 players in this ESWC.

How did you prepare yourself for this ESWC, with this last-minute replacement? What's your goal?
My preparation for this ESWC was shorter than short unfortunately. It’s not everyday one can participate to this kind of event and it saddens me a bit. I started to train yesterday 45min, the goal is to train 5-6 hours per evening until Friday. I try hard to spend all my time focusing on the event, to have the best possible preparation. I’m still confident, with 2 hours of train I’m only 1s behind the WRs which are ridiculously fast. I rely on my experience in LAN to compete with those who have been training 8h/day fo 2 weeks :D
Anyway, I will play completely without pressure and we will see! For now, the goal is not to be the last one, sense of pride involved :D A top12 would be great. I think really trained I would have be able to be in the top8.

What do you think of the mappack this year, is it a good one?
The maps are great ! Hard like it’s required, not too many bugs, very playable and technical. Just perfect. Korre and loco did an amazing job here, you have to notice that.

About the players, many new guys, no swedish... what is your opinion about it? And what is your prediction?
I'm so focusing on my train I even don’t pay attention about who will be there or not, and I don’t care. I will play the best I can, whoever will be against me. My prediction: fr.png Carl, fr.png Rapt and fr.png YoYo on the podium. I think about it.pngBeppo and sk.png HakkiJr rocking the boat. no.png Bergie will also be hardly committed to keep his title. The first place will be for one of those.
About the ESWC, I think it would have been wiser to choose the Masters mappack. I was well trained for the Azerty, and now I have to train a new mappack for a tournament in 3 days, which means I’m not here to do a good performance, and I also lose some time to train for the 1st LAN of the season. It’s a pity. I could have made a good results in both tournaments I think.

My last question is about a hot topic nowadays. I suppose you read that TM²-Canyon was preferred to TMNF at the WCG, what is your thought about it?
Yep, I noticed that, and I don’t really have an opinion about it for now. I don’t want to talk about it without thinking about it some time. I really like TM²-canyon and it’s a good thing, I would not have any difficulties to switch on it if I have to. I’m more thinking about whether it will split the community or not.

Good luck for the ESWC and thanks for this interview tRkr, I let you the final word.
I would like to thank my 3 mates fr.png Sulli, fr.png Rapt and fr.png Carl. You are the best I’ve ever had and you will be for a long time. I thank Anthony and Stephan from fr.png LDLC.com who are awesome. And of course all the people I meet in the LAN during the year, who support us. And all the buddies who will see themselves ;D
PS: GOGO LA SAUCE AND THE FRENCH TEAM TOO

sk.png HakkiJr

Hey HakkiJr, can you introduce yourself?
Hey there, of course I can. I am a 17 years old boy, who loves cars and racing. I am from Slovakia. Currently I am in high school in my town.

How did you prepare yourself for this ESWC? What's your goal?
I prepared myself quite well. I wrote down every day, how many hours I played, so now I can tell that I played approx. 3-4 hours a day. It’s quite much for me, but I’ve never been at the ESWC, so I want to show myself as good as I can. My goal is of course the Grand Final.

What do you think of the mappack this year, is it a good one?
Yea, maps are good but few of them are quite easy  and I always thought the eswc maps are the hardest maps ever :P.

About the players, many new guys, no swedish... what is your opinion about it? And what is your prediction?
Well, for me there isn’t any new guy, I know everyone except that Indian player. Yeah, there is lack of swedish players. Reason? se.png Karjen doesn’t play tournaments anymore as far as I know and se.png frostBeule boycotts ESWC as we all know. I don’t want to tell right now, what is my prediction :P But I am sure, you will be suprised.

My last question is about a hot topic nowadays. I suppose you read that TM²-Canyon was preferred to TMNF at the WCG, what is your thought about it?
What am I supposed to say? If UBISOFT creates a bigger community than TMNF, I will be happy, but I don’t expect it.

Good luck for the ESWC and thanks for this interview, I let you the final word.
I thank you.
