Kinda agree with Wotre, "an unknown Belgian IGN player have won, end of story." , and especially with the fact that he hasn't hide it after the cup. If the intention was to cheat, he/they would have shut up no? :D But ofc I would understand if title goes to Wally.

But it's a fun cup fb, no money at all so it's not a BIG problem imo. The REAL problem was that some guys couldn't even race because the admins couldn't wait for their loading time. That's much more unfair than 1 player claiming his coppers...

Well pretty much every cup is for fun, even those with prizes, so i don't think that's a valid argument to let this slide. And I certainly don't want to cast tournaments where I'm not sure who is playing with which account, and nor do I want to write inaccurate news articles. That stuff can't be allowed in my book and it's pretty obvious why.

I also agree that there were a lot of problems with this cup, but I think it will only get better as long as the admins work for it. And that includes not letting people play with other accounts.

#19 What a stupid thing you guys did, and seeing that you not even care about it is even more lame I think.
#24 by Wotre on 2013-06-02 at 16:05
Well, too bad, but everybody saw that Xeonn won, so no problem. You got what you wanted Frost, I guess I just shouldn't have said anything about it, being punished for my honesty, kinda ironic, isn't it?

#23: True, just didn't stood still with the consequences I guess. Those are two guys who don't take it as serious as some others. They know that they were wrong though, but Xeonn stills feel like the winner. Everybody knows that as well ;) And I wont adapt my news on IGN site.

#25 by Wally on 2013-06-02 at 17:42
Kinda lame of iGn guys. if they did it once, they can do it twice or even more.. so people that are playing against them in ESL or other tournaments have to be careful. We can't trust people these days.

Ofc, I got beat by xeonn, but you just can't do something like this. The game isn't about taking the place of other in their own account.

Well, gg, thx for admins for this awesome cup, I hope to see the same cup soon, it was pretty entertaining!

#26 by Wotre on 2013-06-02 at 17:48
That is a very low conclusion of you Wally.
#27 by Gasgano on 2013-06-02 at 18:16
Wally i am quite offended by your first paragraph and i created an account here just to tell you that. I am member of iGn aswell and you say others have to be careful if they play against me because i could cheat? Are you serious? In Germany that's called defamation and get's you in jail.

I would highly recommend to think about that again. Rowan and Xeonn did not act like the rules, we don't have to talk about that. After it was clear that this has an impact on the outcoming of the tourney, they IMMEDIATELY informed you without any purpose of abuse. And you treat us, not only two guys who made a minor mistake, but the whole iGn clan like villains with the intention to cheat to gain advantages?
My respect for you dropped to zero. Have a good day.

#28 by Wally on 2013-06-02 at 19:08
Well, I think you guys got me wrong at some points.
Not onyl rowan and Xeonn look like they knew it. More than these two knew that Xeonn was playing for Rowan. That's what I think is stupid of iGn guys. If something like that happens in RTA, I would try to stop the two persons involved, instead of letting them cheat.
Ok, I'm sorry for my generalisation, I know maybe this wasn't the best thing to say, but my opinion remains quite the same.. I don't have full trust to iGn now, but I won't say every players will do the same thing, sorry.

I hope you can understand my view at some point. And i know, probaly you guys must think: ''He won, so why the f*ck is he complaining?'' .. Well I just don't want this type of things to happen again in this awesome game.

I know it's normal to defend your teammates, but you guys have to admit this was wrong of them to do such a thing. When i'm facing such a situation, my mom always told me to place myself at the other's position. That's what I'm doing here. If I were a member of iGn and knew that Rowan and Xeonn were plotting such a thing, I would have try everything to stop them...

Peace

Wally we didnt know it ourselves. If you want you can check our shoutbox, at the time it was over we all were like " WOAAA ROWAN YOU WON AMAZING", Wotre then had the idea it could be Xeonn the way he was acting afterwards. It was an action of these two players and if you watch what Xeonn said, you had an conversation so you know it, he had no intention to cheat, he wanted to play instead of wasting the coppers Rowan spend.
I admit, like i said, it was wrong indeed. But YOU have to admit, under this circumstances it got nothing to do with cheating and i'm not letting the scene get such a view on my clan.
#30 by Wally on 2013-06-02 at 20:15
Ok.
Maybe we should not consider it as a cheat, but it's INDEED wrong. And I don't think it's reasonable to defend such an act, but it's your choice. Maybe they had no bad intentions, but they still did it. Taking someone else account to play is forbidden in every league. It's a basic rule of this game, and it should be know by everyone. You can't say that he made the good choice by doing this. The good choice would have been to ask the ADMINS of the cup, to see if it was possible to switch players. I'm sure hotrod can understand something like that.

I never wanted you to have 0 respect for me, but if it's your way of seeing it, alright. I don't think I'm the bad guy in this story. And sorry again for blaming your whole team, I was wrong. The only point I'll defend forever is that this fake-switching account was WRONG.

Best regards

#31 by Wotre on 2013-06-02 at 20:40
Acting like he committed a murder is wrong as well. We are defending our team in prevention of being put in a bad day light. Remember, nobody would have known if we didn't tell it ourselves. Xeonn is our best player of the team, but still he normally doesn't get near top 5 in this tournament. If he had expected to win or even slightly believed in his chances, he would have handled differently, I am sure.

That being said, the whole tm-world still knows the true winner. It is normal that the TTC organisation disqualified him, because technically he did break the rules. When the big guy Frostbeule starts being 'oh my god, i feel betrayed', it's definitely decided.

Wally, you really need to start thinking twice about your comments. In half of your posts you have to apologize for something you said earlier, think about that.

In conclusion: really ironic that it's because of our honesty to admit we were wrong, that we are being punished for not being honest.

#32 by Wally on 2013-06-02 at 21:49
So for you it's normal to take someone else account and play on it? Don't talk like you are making the rules over the game
#33 by Wotre on 2013-06-02 at 22:04
Annoying isn't it? ;)
#34 by Wally on 2013-06-02 at 22:44
Well the only rule that everyone should know is not to play on the account of someone else. It's basic. If you can't understand this, you are mentally retarded...

But I'm sure you see understand, you are just too stubborn to change your mind..

#35 by oNio on 2013-06-03 at 01:18
In my eyes it's kinda easy.

They did wrong, they confessed their mistake, were taken out of the tournament, maybe the newswriter should know how it was found out, that these two did this thing.

To judge about them in this way is wrong too. The penalty was to take them out of tournament. That's it.

#36 by frostBeule on 2013-06-03 at 11:39
#35 Wotre was the one who told me about it, not Rowan or Xeonn. And Wotre even expressed his regret for telling me this and also says he won't change the news he wrote on iGn's website where Rowan/Xeonn are credited as winning.
#37 by Gasgano on 2013-06-03 at 15:34
Well Frost your news get's a wrong view about the thing aswell. "Originally wally finished second after be iGn | Rowan, but then it was discovered that Rowan had let his team-mate be iGn | Xeonn play with his account during the cup."
Wotre told you, nothing was discovered. They didn't try to hide that xeonn drove or anything but your news sounds like we cheated and then admins saw it. That's defiantely not the case and everybody who reads that doesn't think "oh well sadly xeonn made a mistake and did not use his own account, therefore i understand that he is disqualified, better do it next time", not they gonna think "oh well xeonn and rowan cheated on purpose, what a shame."
You can see it in the comments, it's exactly what people think then, look what wally wrote, he thought that whole iGn knew about that and supported them to act against the rules.

i can't speak for Xeonn or Wotre but i fully understand why they would act this way, i'm quite butthurt aswell and i totally understand that they are

@ wally there is no bad guy in this situation. No one tried to get any advantages over other people or something similar. It was a mistake, it was not right, they get disqualified, that's all. I don't defend their actions, i defend my clan because people like me who did nothing at all get drag trough the mire.

Ok man, i understand your position, I'm sorry for what I said before, it wasn't very clear for me.
The only thing that keeps bothering me though is the fact that people seems to ''accept'' the fact that your two teammates switched account.. That's pretty weird..

#39 by znik on 2013-06-05 at 15:27
I got in contact with wX.Robi which was hosting the Czech tournament I mentioned earlier, and I was wrong. They used KTLC mode in Fast: http://www.tm-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=126&t=18935

This one also required restart after each knockout, and worked pretty slow. I hope someone or Nadeo are able to make a better working knockout mode for TM2S, because this is a quite fun and new experience to competitions.

Make the suggestion in the beta forum at maniaplanet! :) I'll back you up too, and hopefully others as well.
I think this mode is great for more casual competitions, would be awesome to see it as a standard in the game (together with ESL Cup Mode for more serious esports competitions).
